The Haudenosaunee ("hoe-dee-no-SHOW-nee") people, more commonly known as the Iroquois ("ear-uh-kwoy"), form a Confederation, made up of six American Indian nations:

• MOHAWK (MO-hawk)
• ONEIDA (o-NY-da)
• ONONDAGA (on-nen-DA-ga)
• CAYUGA (ka-YOO-ga )
• SENECA (SEN-i-ka)
• TUSCARORA (tus-ka-ROR-a)
